The Plate Holding Forceps are used to maintain plate position through a hole in the plate, bone plates will slip and slide over the bone surface without fixation. The ball behind the jaw tip locates in the bone plate and thus prevents interference anywhere else in the operation site. This instrument is also useful as a reduction forceps in soft and younger bone as the ball will prevent over penetration of bone.
